Baker, James D. – b. June 28, 1914, Jamestown, N.D.; d. Jan. 11, 2008, Lodi, Calif. Survivors: sons, Kenneth, Charles, Arthur; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren. Founded National Association of Adventist Doctors and Dentists; awarded Bronze Star, Purple Heart, Silver Star and WWII Victory Medal.

Beckner, Mavis C. – b. Sept. 7, 1920, Castlewood, S.D.; d. Dec. 25, 2007, Ukiah, Calif. Survivors: husband, Joseph; daughters, Judy Hindman, Jan Woesner; four grandchildren.

Bliss, Clayton B. – b. July 19, 1941, McMinnville, Ore.; d. Sept. 24, 2007, Chewelah, Wash. Survivors: son, Clinton; daughters, Jacqueline Vaughn, Charis Armstrong, Audrey Zamora, Monika.

Calkins, Ellie K. – b. Aug. 22, 1919, Sidney, Australia; d. Dec. 1, 2007, Eureka, Calif. Survivors: sons, Steven, Ted; five grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren. Ministered with her husband in Wisconsin, Idaho, Nevada and California and traveled the world for children's ministry. Wrote for teachers' training and presented visual aids.

Hutchinson, Barbara J. – b. April 18, 1936, Hinsdale, Ill.; d. Jan. 12, 2008, Napa, Calif. Survivors: daughters, Linda, Suzanne, Heather; four grandchildren.

Lumbert, Jerry Evan – b. Oct. 19, 1922, Wichita, Kan.; d. Jan. 16, 2008, Citrus Heights, Calif. Survivors: wife, Wendelyn; sons, David, Dean; daughters: Diana, Wendy, Laurel. Served as a pilot in New Guinea and the Philippines during WWII; colporteur, Pathfinder leader, soloist, and choir member at the Carmichael church.

Miller, Thomas C. – b. Feb. 23, 1922, Calgary, Alta., Canada; d. Dec. 26, 2007, Napa, Calif. Survivors: wife, Bobbie Faye; sons, Barry, Brian; daughter, Beverly Miller Utt; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren. Served the Northern California Conference as a trust officer; skilled in insurance, financial planning and business services.

Neufeld, Roland D. – b. Sept. 26, 1920, Waldheim, Sask., Canada; d. Oct. 23, 2007, Ukiah, Calif. Survivors: wife, Fances; sons, Roland, II, Bradley, Grant Clark, Dick Clark, IV; daughters, Marlene Keszler, Ahna Hubner; 13 grandchildren; one great-grandchild.

Normington, Louis W. – b. May 14, 1914, Glasgow, Scotland; d. Jan. 15, 2008, Cameron Park, Calif. Survivors: sons, Malcolm, Randy; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild. Missionary to Nigeria; taught at Golden Gate Academy and PUC; counselor with the St. Helena Hospital Alcohol Recovery Program.

Paschal, Melba D. – b. Dec. 23, 1915, Waco, Texas; d. Feb. 9, 2008, Vallejo, Calif. Worked 30 years with the Internal Revenue Service.
