Ballew, Audrey A. – b. March 3, 1927, Pine Island, Minn.; d. March 12, 2007, Bakersfield, Calif. Survivors: sons, Larry, Lanny; daughter, Linda Owens; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren. Believed in and supported Adventist education.

Best, Gladys M. – b. Nov. 7, 1921, Topeka, Kan.; d. June 19, 2007, Napa, Calif. Survivors: husband, Clyde; sons, Clyde Jr., Lloyd; daughters, Elizabeth Mallinson, Linda Piatt; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren. Worked at Pacific Press bindery in Mountain View; nurse aide in Palo Alto and Mountain View hospitals; volunteered in ABC stores in several conferences.

Caviness, Charlotte – b. Nov. 14, 1920, Lodi, Calif.; d. April 17, 2007, Chico, Calif. Survivors: sons, Lanny, Larry; daughters, Janice Taber, Judy Gibson; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren.

Cottrell, Richard S. – b. Dec. 9, 1930, Modesto, Calif.; Feb. 8, 2007, Tucson, Ariz. Survivors: wife, Carolyn; son, Richard; daughter, Darla Schmunk; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild. Very active in mission outreach to Haiti; taught school for 32 years.

Dorman, Norman T. – b. Dec. 1, 1918, Gerard, Kan.; d. May 17, 2007, Lodi, Calif. Survivors: wife, Bernice; sons, Norman John, Lance C., Lee J. Thompson, John Gelber; 17 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren. Drove milk tanker throughout San Joaquin County for 35 years.

Garlick, Harry – b. Nov. 4, 1922, Los Angeles, Calif.; d. June 27, 2007, Coarsegold, Calif. Survivors: wife Linda; son, Bruce; step-daughter, Merrily Bray; three grandchildren. Served in Southeastern and Northern California conferences and the Pacific Union working primarily with youth, especially Pathfinders. See story in Union News section.

Greenman, Barbara Jean Agee – b. Nov. 16, 1935, Eugene, Ore.; d. May 24, 2007, Loma Linda, Calif. Survivors: husband, Forrest Lyle; daughter, Jeanne Newbold.

Hamm, Don – b. Aug. 27, 1916, Long Beach, Calif.; d. June 10, 2007, Bellflower, Calif. Survivors: wife, Marion; sons, Thomas, David Moser; daughters: Kathleen Babcock, Judy Moser.

Hernandez, Juan Virgilio – b. June 26, 1924, Havana, Cuba; d. May 1, 2007, Loma Linda, Calif. Survivors: wife, Esperanza; sons, Ruben, Robert; daughter, Mirtha Miller; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild. Served as a treasurer in Cuba; administrator/teacher at Instituto Colombo-Venezolano; pastor in the Texico, Northern and Southern California conferences.

Hooper, Wayne – b. July 4, 1920, Little Rock, Ark.; d. Feb. 28, 2007, Newbury Park, Calif. Survivors: wife, Harriett; sons, Jim, David, Dan; daughter, Jan Lind; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren. Baritone in King's Heralds quartet for 18 years; produced Voice of Prophecy broadcast and recordings; edited SDA Hymnal; arranged and/or composed more than 1,500 songs.

Robinson, Virgil L. – b. May 23, 1920, Fort Wayne, Ind.; d. May 31, 2007, Paradise, Calif. Survivors: wife, Valerie; daughters, Lloree Ellsworth, Leila.

Sanford, Henrietta E. – b. Aug. 12, 1916, Nekoma, Kan.; d. March 7, 2007, Roseville, Calif. Survivors: sons, Kenneth, Harold, Robert, Raymond; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.
