Monterey Bay Academy Group Sings at National Cathedral
Jason Mustard

The Oceanaires and Westwinds, Monterey Bay Academy’s select touring groups, toured the East Coast from April 29 to May 7. The groups performed in Maryland, Virginia and Washington, D.C., including a choral postlude at the Sunday service of the National Cathedral.

“It was an exhilarating experience to perform in the National Cathedral,” music director Joshua Rivera said. “The whole tour was really a wonderful opportunity for our group.”

“It was exciting to see how much we’ve grown musically this year,” says Adam Baldwin, a senior from Visalia, Calif.

For the group of 57 students, faculty and parents, the tour combined performance opportunities with excursions, both educational and fun, in six states. “We experienced the east coast in a very detailed way,” says Jun Jun Asuncion, a senior from Glendale, Calif.
