CHOSEN Sings at Springville
Lisia U. Latu

Children Holding Our Savior Eternally Near — better know as CHOSEN — spread their six-part harmony across Springville camp meeting this year.

CHOSEN consists of students from Walla Walla University, and as members graduate or move on, new members are added. The current roster includes Karen Bibb, soprano; Anika Clark, alto; Michael Lee, bass; Risha Opp, second soprano; Mike Unterseher, bari-tenor; and Elton Zebron, baritone. Zebron also arranges and mixes all the group's music.

The group started as a way for friends with a passion and talent for music to get together and worship their Savior, glorifying Him with their talents. "I believe music is the truest form of worship," says Unterseher, "and I enjoy getting together with friends and praising God."

CHOSEN has been around for seven years, but only Unterseher and Lee are part of the original group. "Our friends enjoyed getting together and unwinding after a long week at school while doing something we enjoyed," explains Lee.

The group has a very eclectic style of music. Inspiration comes from various musical genres. The group sings hymns, Gaither classics and songs that all group members agree upon. They rely heavily on inspiration from God to lead their selections.

After each of their performances, the group receives requests for CDs, so they recently started working on their first CD.
