The Lincoln Amazing Grace Seventh-day Adventist Company has just completed a successful evangelistic series. The meetings, which were held five nights a week, began April 13 and ran through May 19. Amazing Facts evangelist John Bradshaw came into town for the series, which brought in 256 adults and 39 children on opening night.
There was quite a bit of work done in the community in preparation for the meetings. The members reached out to the community with the right arm of the gospel, the Adventist health message, as they began ramping their efforts for the evangelistic series in early spring.
Don Mackintosh led out in the Monday night depression recovery program, which was started by Dr. Neil Nedley in early February. Just As I Am Ministries led out in the weekly addiction recovery meetings. The church also held a vegetarian dinner, which featured Vicki Griffin of Lifestyle Matters. With the generous help of the Northern California Conference and Amazing Facts, banners, inserts, newspaper ads, as well as local television advertising, and about 30,000 brochures flooded the Lincoln area.
A class of 35 Amazing Facts Center of Evangelism students, church members, and Lincoln Bible worker John Quedzuweit hit the streets knocking on doors, and following up on Bible study leads and needs.
Bradshaw lifted up Jesus throughout the seminar, giving those attending hope and reassurance as he made clear God’s prophetic calendar and the end time events. “I’ve never heard our message put so clear,” said Dr. Herbert Douglass of the Lincoln church. “John Bradshaw is really something special.”
The event resulted in 17 baptisms, including two children who were drawn by the children’s program led by John and Lisa Quade. Church-led in-home Bible study small groups are planned to provide long-term support for the newcomers.
Lincoln has been one of the fastest growing areas in California in the recent past, and it now boasts a population of approximately 39,000 people, tripling in size in just the past seven years.
Prior to these meetings, the Lincoln company had about 100 in attendance. This is the group's third evangelistic series since they were planted in 2001. Their long-term plan is to continue revealing Christ’s grace by building relationships and providing events and programs that follow Christ’s world-impacting pattern of restoration, education and proclamation.
