Revival Series Set to Coincide with Theological Symposium
Susan Kollenberg

Amazing Facts will present a 10-day revival series called "Here We Stand: Foundations of Our Faith." This live television broadcast will be an opportunity to reclaim former or inactive members and for church members to introduce their friends to the distinctive teachings of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.

The revival will be held in Lansing, Mich., Sept. 7-15, at the Lansing Convention Center and will feature Pastor Doug Batchelor, Amazing Facts president and senior pastor of Sacramento Central church. These meetings will also be broadcast live on 3ABN on their worldwide satellite network.

This satellite series will be held in conjunction with an Empowered Church theological symposium, "Revival Symposium: Empowering Your Life and Church," jointly sponsored by Amazing Facts and the Michigan Conference. Special evangelistic training programs will be offered for pastors and church lay leaders who want to help prepare and empower God's church for revival and growth. This dynamic, multilayered conference will cover such topics as: exciting perspectives in evangelism, a healthy and growing church, the theology of sanctification, personal ministry that works, fostering a holy church, answering objections, and much more.

There is an urgent need and desire for revival among God's people, yet many believers seem hesitant and timid about sharing God's end-time message.

"It appears today many of God's people are losing appreciation for the strong biblical foundations of our unique message," says Batchelor. "I frequently encounter members who seem reluctant and even embarrassed about sharing the beautiful and defining truths God has given to the Seventh-day Adventist Church. Others are slowly losing their first love. Compromise with the world is siphoning spiritual vitality away from many believers."

The revival will address many of these issues and emphasize the importance of standing firmly on the Bible-based doctrines of God's remnant church. Key teachings, such as the three angels' messages of Revelation 14, the law and the gospel, the return of Christ, the Sabbath, the state of the dead, the sanctuary, the health message, and the spirit of prophecy will be highlighted.

"Revival '07 has tremendous evangelistic potential," says Batchelor, "and it provides an excellent opportunity for church members to bring their Christian friends who want to better understand the distinctive teachings that set the Seventh-day Adventist church apart from generic Christianity."
