Adventist Motorcyle Ministry

Responding to story: "Sabbath Keepers Motorcycle Ministry Rumbles Through Biker Community" [Oct. 2007].

This is a wonderful, inspiring story. My husband and I are riders and Sabbath-keepers. We do not typically go to the large rallies, but have shared Christ's love in smaller groups around our hometown, Walla Walla, Washington. Praise God for your ministry!

Linda F. Nelson

What an awesome story. I can see that God is calling all to come home. May God bless your mission.

Modern Slavery

Responding to story: "The Church Joins the Fight Against Modern Slavery" [Oct. 2007].

Slavery is unfair, cruel, and inhumane, and I want to congratulate [the Pacific Union] for supporting legislation aimed at stopping this detestable crime against humanity. There is, though, a much worse crisis in our society: the practice of abortion. Slavery deprives a human beings of their freedom. Abortion deprives them of life. Jesus stated: "Let the children come to me." How can they come to Jesus, if we slaughter them before they have a chance to take their first breath?

0 + 0 + 0 = 0

This is in response to an article that a friend sent me of Tom Mostert's ["0 + 0 + 0 = 0," Aug. 2007]. I just wanted to say how much I so appreciated it, for it is a rare thing to find anyone these days who will be so honest, and be so clear in what is right, and what is wrong. Please tell him that my husband and I are thankful for his ministry, and to keep writing the truth as he did.

Diana Garber

Amen, Amen and Amen. I, for one, will surely miss Elder Mostert. He keeps our reason for being a SDA on track. May we still hear from him in his retirement.

Betty Bright

The specifics are the meat of all true practical Christianity. Thank you for your comments. I very much appreciate them. These areas of deficiency are the areas that separate the men and the boys. The Cain mentality is so common in our church today and when you call people's attention to where we need to be going, they turn around and brand you with are you the one that troubles Israel type of response and such names that you shudder and wonder if we are heading in the same direction of heaven. Thank you for the timely reminder for those who really care about our unique position as Seventh-day Adventist Christians in these days in history.

Okezie O.N. Ukegbu

Glad to know there is something more than salvation through Jesus full and complete. I was getting worried there wouldn't be any work for me to do. I really should figure out exactly what Jesus meant when He said in John 6:29: "The work of God is this, to believe in the one He has sent."

Paul Wells

Thank you Elder Mostert for having the courage to state the obvious even when it isn't popular. As a fellow minister who came into this message precisely because of the unique and Biblicaly faithful understandings of this denomination, it is my greatest discouragement to see the attitudes that you describe here. We are truly at a crossroads in this denomination and it is only when faithful leaders, such as yourself, speak out boldly and in love that the truth will get through. Thank you for caring enough to speak the truth.

Pastor Bob Burke

I never thought I would ever agree with anything Mostart says, but I am afraid I do this time. While it may be a little preachy and old fashion, it is the truth anyway. Sitting where I sit and knowing what I know I have no recourse but to agree with him. However all is not lost. This is still God's church and He has a remnant that has not bowed, and His church will triumph. The only thing lacking from the letter is the hope factor, and there is hope.

Sunday Church

Responding to story: "Sunday Church" [Aug. 2007].

I don't see anything wrong with having Bible study on Sabbath and meeting the needs of the community. Jesus said, "My Father works and I also work," after healing on sabbath.
