"Today, we have a place to worship—inside,” said Devon Ludwig, White Memorial Adventist School principal, to students gathered for the first time in the school’s Shalom Chapel. “The Lord has blessed us. This time last year, we had to have our worship on the asphalt playground.”
Ludwig commended Donald Shelton, the 7th and 8th-grade teacher, who raised $20,000 to purchase new windows for the chapel building. Shelton, a vocalist, staged a benefit concert, with the help of several musician friends. Later, other individuals added to the fund.
“We are also grateful to Dr. Alfred and Pearl Lui for their generosity in the development and support of the school’s library and science program.” said SCC President Larry L. Caviness.
