Benson church members put a lot of time and energy into their vacation Bible school program each year. For the past 20 years, they have enrolled 35-40 children, most of them from the community. This year's program, Avalanche Ranch, included the efforts of many of the church members, who consider VBS just one of their many evangelistic outreach programs.

"We have seen these children grow up, and when they are 13 and older, we have them come back as helpers, which they are very anxious to do," said Barbara Bohnert. "A number of adults who are not members of our congregation help, also, which has been a great way for us to make friends with our neighbors."
