"Hey Everybody is a new La Sierra University show that will air July 11 on Loma Linda Broadcasting Network. New episodes will air every Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. A partnership co-produced by La Sierra University and LLBN, Hey Everybody is a show for everyone especially young adults.
Hey Everybody is a cheesy greeting that become very popular on campus, says Samuel Leonor, campus pastor who hosts the Hey Everybody show. I couldnt tell you why or how. But it became, in a sense, an affirmation of community. We see the show as a way to highlight the value of conversation, the value of together tackling some of the tough issues facing young people today.
The topics we decide to discuss are either subjects that weve experienced in our relationship with Jesus or from the everyday issues we encounter when trying to live a Christian life, says Branden Stoltz, senior business major and student director of Hey Everybody.
What makes Hey Everybody so unique is the fact that we are a group of Christian student leaders who are wonderfully diverse in our backgrounds but have one uniting factor we love God and believe that He has a plan for each and everyone of us, says Linda Biswas, MBA student and student missions director.
One of the objectives of Spiritual Life at LSU is to nurture students in developing faith that engages culture deeply, adds Leonor. One of the ways we achieve that is by engaging students in conversations that explore contemporary biblical spirituality. I really enjoy conversations with students about contemporary spirituality and practice issues. So, naturally, I see this as an opportunity to widen the conversation.
Not only will viewers get a chance to engage with us on lively discussions about pertinent topics affecting the world today like music, MySpace, dating, etc., but they can also choose to write in or call us to give us their perspective, as well, says Biswas.
We are pleased to work with the young, vibrant and diverse team that La Sierra brought in to produce this series that deals with real-life issues that impact our young adults on a day to day basis, says Ganim Hanna, LLBN president and CEO. It has been a successful experience for both organizations, and we look forward to producing other programs together in the future.
