Samoans Open Church in Yucaipa
By Kit Watts
A Samoan company formerly meeting in Riverside celebrated a high day on Sabbath, Feb. 11. They not only advanced to the official status of a church but also hosted the grand opening of a facility they have refurbished.
The church and auxillary buildings are located at 32360 Avenue E in Yucaipa. Hundreds of members and friends from other congregations attended the festivities.
Southeastern California Conference officers Gerald Penick, president, and Sandra Roberts, executive secretary, officiated at the organization. Local church leaders participating included Sioeli Puni, pastor; Paulina Pao, clerk; and Laufuti Soli, head elder. Church membership stands at 127.
