Timeline of Recent Name Changes
1990: After separating from Loma Linda University, La Sierra College becomes La Sierra University.
1996: Southern College of Seventh-day Adventists becomes Southern Adventist University; Southwestern Adventist College becomes Southwestern Adventist University.
2006: Walla Walla College seriously considers changing to a university name; Pacific Union College votes to remain a college in both name and function.
