Susanville Students Attend Cool Ringings
By Michael Meadows
Ten students from Susanville Adventist Christian School recently attended “Cool Ringings,” a hand bell and chime festival held at Gem State Academy in Idaho. About 80 other fifth to eighth grade students from other schools attended.
The program began Thursday evening, but most of that evening and Friday were spent practicing for the Sabbath afternoon concert. Between practices there were music and rhythm games and activities. About half of the students were using hand chimes, the others used hand bells.
A local television station interviewed students Jordan and Taylor Vixie during the festival. Their segment appeared on Fox news Friday night.
Friday evening, everyone attended a concert by Bobbie Michaels, a Christian recording artist. Many students dedicated their lives to Christ during the altar call at the end of the concert.
