Early morning of March 13 found more than 450 Arizona Pathfinders plus staff, families and friends busily preparing for the Arizona Pathfinder Fair. Food and display booths were erected in an orderly fashion, boldly displaying the theme for the year: Keeping the Fire Alive.
Grand marshals Duane and Kathy McKey led the annual parade. Pathfinders and staff, dressed in their class A uniforms, followed with flying flags and waving banners.
Fair events included blinded drivers racing wheelbarrows, a tent pitching competition, tennis ball cannon launches, long jumps, and a water balloon toss.
"One of the highlights of the Pathfinder Fair," shared Florence Darby, a judge for the day, "was reviewing the scrapbooks in which each club had carefully recorded their events and activities during the year. In the Pathfinder club, there's a place and activity for all age groups."
The next big event is the Adventurer/Pathfinder Leadership Convention Aug. 26-28 at Camp Yavapines in Prescott, Ariz. Featured speaker James Black, NAD Youth Director, will inspire the Adventurer and Pathfinder staff to greater heights of youth ministry in local churches.
