Pacific Press recently gave a makeover to Our Little Friend and Primary Treasure, beginning with the April 16 issues. Our Little Friend, written for children ages 0-5, and Primary Treasure, written for ages 6-10, are weekly Sabbath school magazines that share Gods love with Adventist kids. Besides stories, these little magazines have coloring pages, puzzles, and games to make worship time fun. Our Little Friend was first published in 1890, and Primary Treasure has been in existence since 1957.
Both magazines have added more stories to their format to help children apply the Bible lesson each week in their own lives. In addition, the style of art has changed to be more realistic and life-like. Primary Treasure has also added more color inside each issue.
I have two daughters, one in beginner Sabbath school and one in kindergarten, says one reader. We often use Our Little Friend in family worship. We like having the additional story you recently added to each issue. The publication really enhances our worship and our study of the childrens Sabbath school lessons.
Our Little Friend now has a special section called Baby Steps to accompany the beginner lesson. Primary Treasure has added a new section, written by childrens author Jerry D. Thomas, called Seventh-day Adventists Believe. Every other week, Thomas examine ones of the 27 fundamentals of the Seventh-day Adventist Church from a childs level to show why that belief is important to our relationship with Jesus.
