Adventist Media Center Employees Trim “Tree of Love” to Raise Funds
By Seth Wade
The Adventist Media Center (AMC) recently wrapped up a donation project named “Purchase a Heart, Save a Heart.” The project, headed up by Marshall Chase, AMC manager, raised $1,510 to contribute to ADRA for the Tsunami Relief Fund, which Chase announced to the staff on Valentine’s Day.
For the project, employees had the opportunity to buy a decorative heart for $25, and hang the heart on a “Tree of Love.” The funds raised went directly to ADRA to help out with some immediate needs including:
Sri Lanka – water purification. Thailand – protective gear to workers recovering bodies. India – providing food and water to 7,250 displaced people. Indonesia – toward establishing a field hospital with a team of local medical experts from regional Adventist hospitals.
