TAA Students Make it Real
By Karen Lewis
This year, Thunderbird Adventist Academy has made a special effort to encourage the personal growth and spiritual commitment in students. Chaplain Mathieu Theoret has planned a variety of programs to help make Christianity real for them.
Two new classes this year, Bible Study Preparation and Operation Outreach, were started to teach students how to share Christ with others. Students have also participated in evangelistic meetings at a local church.
Adopting a grandparent at a nursing home and working in the local food bank give students an opportunity to reach out to the community. In addition to student-led vespers programs, students have taken the initiative in holding prayer circles in the center of campus every Friday after lunch.
More than 25 percent of the student body recently participated in a mission trip to Peru, helping in all aspects of soul-winning, from working in vacation Bible school to preaching at evangelistic meetings.
