Former TAA Librarian Receives Award
By Shirley Chipman
For twenty-six years, Ella Jean Albertsen worked as librarian at Thunderbird Adventist Academy (TAA), alongside her husband Ken, who taught physics and math there for 27 years.
Eleven of those years Ella Jean also taught yearbook and English. Her patience and knowledge in her field were appreciated by students, and she was often thought of as one of the "best" instructors. This fall it was made official when she was honored as "The Best of the Best" at Cactus Shadows High School.
Nominated by the administration and recognized at the governing board meeting in October, Ella Jean is the first librarian to receive this honor in the school district.
"Cactus Shadows High School consistently ranks among the top high schools in the state of Arizona," said Dr. Gaye Leo, principal. "We are pleased to have Ella Jean on our staff as the school librarian and congratulate her on this award."
