Why Is Adventist Education Essential Today?
Central California Conference Education Commission members respond...
There has been a tremendous societal shift away from God and Scripture in the past 10 years. When I gave Bible studies 10 years ago, people already believed in God and Scripture. They were making a doctrinal transition as the fullness of God’s Word was opened before them. Today, I can’t even begin a Bible study until people understand the basics — accepting God, Jesus and Scripture. They really have no clue. At the end of the day, Christian education will have a bigger influence on our children and society than anything else.
Pierre Steinberg
Pastor, Hollister
Christian education for this church could be the most effective evangelism arm we have – not only for our own children, but for our community’s children and their parents.

School Board Chair
Chowchilla Elementary
Do you want to have an Adventist church in the future? The unique beliefs are not supported in other educational settings. Our beliefs go deeper than biblical teaching to the core of a life of service and the commission of announcing the soon coming of Christ.
Dan Kittle
Principal
Fresno Adventist Academy
God called me to teach. Our children are to be thinkers and not reflectors of men’s thoughts. Christian teachers reflect Jesus’ light of love, His love of mercy and constant care. Too many of our children have passion unbridled, love unused, power untamed, minds untaught, emotions abused and senses overwhelmed. Christian education provides a powerful environment, constant influence and essential support for overworked and overwhelmed parents.

Monterey Bay Academy
It’s what keeps our kids in the church. I’m seeing way too many of our kids head off to other Christian schools or public schools. We don’t see them in church anymore. It is so sad!
Larry Pena
CPA; School Board Chair
Valley View Jr. Academy
It is important to educate a young person as a whole and in balance. Focusing on just an academic education is not enough. Christian education educates the whole person, educates them spiritually, not just academically.
Dochan Kwak, Ph.D.
Assistant Director
NASA Research Center, Palo Alto
From my own experience, having gone through Adventist education I learned the basic fundamentals of our faith that have kept me in the Adventist church. And I know that the teachers in our Adventist school care passionately about our children, in their whole development – in the sciences, the fine arts and their personal relationship with the Lord which is the most important. If they don’t love Jesus, they are like a ship without an oar.
