"Between the Lines," the international teaching ministry of Pastor Don Pate, will soon unveil a new web-based program for Bible teaching.
"Were creating a program called 'discover.now.' With these series, we are going to do something that will look very much like television," Pate says, "but were taking it straight to the World Wide Web so that folks can access this material anytime, anywhere."
Through the expertise of Einstein Systems of Little Rock, Ark., WEBEX (an online conferencing provider), and long-time television videographer Hank Madden, the project has blossomed since mid-February.
Pate, pastor of the Peoria/Sun Cities church, founded Between the Lines as a radio entity in October 1995. The program is now heard on more than 185 stations around the world every day.
"Discover.now" will comprise 13 half-hour presentations, giving insights into the adult Sabbath school lessons. Following the adult Sabbath School Quarterly, the first set of discussions will be an extended study of biblical concepts, looking into marriage, parents and children, co-worker issues and other practical concepts for positive relationships. One new program will broadcast each week, and older programs will be archived for anytime viewing.
"I am really excited about the possibilities of this new ministry outreach for our church," says Bob Rawson, retired General Conference treasurer. In addition, he says, "Church members will be enriched in their study of the Sabbath school lessons."
When completely up and running, "discover.now" will be available throughout the world at
btlministries.org. It will also be a portal on the soon-to-be-developed site for Pates home congregation at
discoveringhope.com.
"The horizon is limitless, and Im enthused that my congregation and the executive board members of 'Between the Lines' have put their hearts into this new venue in Christian communications," says Pate.
