The Greater Los Angeles Region 2004 Convocation sounded the overarching note of soul-winning, beginning with weeknight health and soul-winning seminar series. The latter graduated 22 as personal evangelists.
Stephen Lewis, pastor of the Fountain of the World Church, reported on evangelistic meetings in Los Angeles; new believers and young people who helped promote the series shared personal stories of Gods leading.
The Region report highlighted ministry and outreach. Howard Small, Philadelphian Church pastor and the regions promotion coordinator for the Sow One Billion initiative, predicted a firestorm of souls this year, with 90,000 Bible-study request cards being mailed out to region church areas, followed by the NET 2004 satellite series. He encouraged, Be a part of the NET 2004 satellite series and the Sow One Billion outreach. The Southern California Conference goal this year is to have 2,500 baptisms!
In a powerful worship-hour message, Walter Pearson, speaker-director of the Breath of Life telecast and NET 2004 speaker, noted, We are on the precipice of a different world. Satan will try to get in your face, but you cant get him out until you have a relationship with Jesus Christ. Without Him, you will not be able to say, Not here, not now or Get thee behind me, Satan. We ought to be praying to be used of God.
An altar call filled all aisles and the area in front of the large platform, with many requesting baptism.
