Eight AMES Students Baptized
By Deloris Trujillo, Superintendent of Schools
Eight Adventist Malama Elementary School students in grades five to eight were recently baptized after taking baptismal studies with Pastor Vernon Putz.
“These children have formed strong social bonds with each other. I’m impressed by their knowledge of Bible truths that are unique to Adventism,” said teacher Herb Souza. “Many are involved with Pathfinders. They do many things together, participate in many activities of the church, and do things like regular car washes to raise tuition money for those in need.”
A few of the children’s non-Adventist parents are showing an interest in knowing more about the Church, and another group of about eight students are in the process of studying with the pastor for baptism.
"We all praise and thank the Lord for His work in their lives,” said Souza. “Even though we are His instruments, He does the changing. What an exciting day that will be when the heavenly things we spoke of in school will be a reality for them.”
