Loma Linda University Adventist Health Sciences Center announces the appointment of Ruthita J. Fike as executive vice president for hospital affairs. In addition, Fike was also appointed chief executive officer and administrator of Loma Linda University Medical Center.
Fike has a long history in the health-care profession. She was previously executive vice president of operations and support services for Centura Health in Englewood, Colo. From 1996 to 2002, she was CEO of Porter Adventist Hospital, Denver, Colo., and Littleton Adventist Hospital, Littleton, Colo. From 1989 to 1996, Fike was chief operating officer and senior vice president of Shawnee Mission Medical Center, Shawnee Mission, Kan.
In addition to having experience in the health-care field, Fike has also held positions in the educational arena. From 1978 to 1985, she was vice president of institutional advancement at Union College, Lincoln, Neb.; from 1974 to 1978, she was an English teacher at College View Academy, and also taught several college classes in Lincoln.
Currently, B. Lyn Behrens, MBBS, serves as president and CEO of both Loma Linda University Medical Center and Loma Linda University Adventist Health Sciences Center. Behrens will retain her position as president of the LLU Medical Center and president and CEO of LLU Adventist Health Sciences Center.
