The Yuma, Ariz., church recently completed the final phase of its three-part renovation with a remodeling of the sanctuary.
Early in 2000, the membership decided to renovate the building. The first phase, completed in 2002, was an exterior face lift. "Snowbird" members, those who leave their northern homes to enjoy Yumas winter weather, had special skills which were utilized in building the church.
Two years ago, the City of Yuma awarded the church the "Best Commercial Remodel in 2002" a transformation that took the facade of the church from its old 1950s construction to Spanish Mission-style.
The second phase, also complete, was the construction of a gymnasium/family center in which the church met during the phase three sanctuary renovation.
