In Memorium: Erwin J. Remboldt (1915-2004)
On Saturday, June 12, 2004, Erwin Remboldt, the first president of Adventist Health, passed away.
Remboldt began his lengthy career with the system in 1947 at White Memorial Medical Center in East Los Angeles. Over the next several decades, he served in a number of leadership roles throughout our organization and ultimately held the role of president of what was then Adventist Health/System West from 1974-1980. Remboldt’s leadership shaped and molded Adventist Health into the system it is today. He is viewed by many as the father of the organization. Our heartfelt sympathies go out to Remboldt’s family for their loss. We, along with them, mourn his passing and look forward to the day when we will see him again.
