Academy Names Building in Honor of Retired Educator and SCC Administrator
The recently completed (2002) gymnasium complex of Los Angeles Adventist Academy now bears the name of a beloved former principal.
The Lorenzo W. Paytee Pavilion was named in honor of Paytee, who began his career as a junior high teacher at the school and returned to serve as principal from 1956-60 and 1974-76. A plaque inside the building cites Paytees exemplary service as an inspirational teacher, principal and dedicated supporter of Los Angeles Adventist Academy.
Paytee retired in 2003 as secretary of the Southern California Conference and currently is pastor of the Native American Fellowship.
