Quincy VBS Attracts 50 Kids
By Jan Krpalek
More than 50 children participated in Quincy’s Vacation Bible School Aug. 11-16, double last year’s attendance. Only six children were Seventh-day Adventists, and the rest were visitors from the community.
Church members Jim and Rhonda Balkovek designed and painted a beautiful mural. The design was also featured on special T-shirts that were given to the children who attended all five days of the program.
“Creation Station” was the theme this year. Activities included singing, skits, Bible lessons and craft projects. Among the craft projects were ceramics, apron making, tie-dying and bread making.
The concluding program drew parents and members of the congregation together to observe what the children had learned during the week. Everyone was treated to a special brunch immediately afterward.
