Camp Meeting Evangelism Offering Tops $837,000
The 2003 Camp Meeting Evangelism Offering totaled $837,530 in gifts and pledges. The goal was $500,000. “I am deeply awed at how God continues to propel us forward in claiming our territories for Him,” says President Jerry Page, noting that the offering’s tremendous and consistent growth is a continued journey with God that began in Central six years ago.
Looking back over this six-year journey, three key components have developed:
#1 United Prayer – When the prayer partners and leaders began to ask God for a token that the united prayers of His people really work, God chose the Camp Meeting Evangelism Offering as one significant evidence.
#2 God’s Vision – Stretching the members in a variety of outreach ministries.
#3 A Call for Stewardship – Strengthening the members’ faith through sacrificial giving. God is seeking a remnant in Laodicia who will fully surrender every area of their lives to Him.
The offering, overseen by the Conference Evangelism Committee, provides essential funding for local congregations: (1) dramatically expanding traditional outreaches; (2) partnering for Bible workers; and, (3) assisting with new work projects. It also makes possible the 25 new church plants currently in progress with an additional four in the research stages.
“We are more sure than ever this offering is a God thing,” Page says. “And I look forward to seeing what God will do with us through sacrifice as we join Him in His work.”
